Ecdysis: The Molting is a depiction of an evolving self; shedding the people and experiences that interfere with the desired outcome of our identity. The process behind Ecdysis enhances its desire for molding and manipulating the self in order to form our authentic identity. The Mordancage process washes away the essence only to reappear submitting itself to individual manipulation. While each outcome of the process may vary, each is true to itself in that state. The various sizes come together to form a single figural image in a state of transition. The warm blue of the cyanotypes and the vulnerability of the glass it's printed on operate as a meditative individual moment of transcendence between the viewer and the piece.
